Jesús Martínez de la Fuente

gozillaDespite my short scientific career, I have achieved, an independent scientific situation and I have demonstrated my skills as recognized scientist in biological and biomedical applications of nanoparticles. Since I obtained my PhD in 2003, I develop considerable experience in making a wide range of types of nanoparticles and finding biotechnological applications of Nanotechnology. …). I was funded by the Spanish Science Ministry to work in the Centre for Cell Engineering University of Glasgow (UK) to develop a research project involving the nanoparticles development and its biological application during two years.

In July 2005, I went back to the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ)-CSIC (Seville, Spain) with a Ramón y Cajal Grant. My research was oriented to the vectorization of paramagnetic nanoparticles with biologically relevant carbohydrates to label and visualize brain tumors.

In June 2007, I got a permanent position at the Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon (INA) belonging to the University of Zaragoza (Spain) as Junior Researcher supported by ARAID, and created my own research group “Nanotechnology and Apoptosis Group ” (NAP).

Currently I am a permanent researcher at the Institute of Materials Science of Aragon (ICMA-CSIC).
